Local organizations count too. A current profile with the Maricopa County Bar Association (which runs a lawyer referral service), Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association or the State Bar of Arizona is a trusted local listing that points to your firm. We check which ones you have, and which ones are missing or out of date.
Law firm SEO and marketing in Phoenix
The Phoenix metro has more than 2,600 law offices, from downtown to Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale. Most people looking for a lawyer here start with a search on their phone and call one of the first firms they see. We help Phoenix-area firms show up in Google Maps, search results and AI answers, then turn those searches into signed clients.

A big market packed into two counties
Phoenix is a big legal market packed into just two counties. The metro covers the City of Phoenix and Maricopa and Pinal counties, from Scottsdale and Mesa out to Casa Grande. Here’s what U.S. Census Bureau data for the Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler metro (County Business Patterns 2023 for legal services, American Community Survey 2020–2024) means for your marketing:
| Measure | Phoenix metro | What it means for your firm |
|---|---|---|
| Law offices | 2,632 | Most practice areas have dozens of firms competing for the same searches |
| Offices with 5 or more staff | 698, about one in four | Plenty of competitors with real marketing budgets |
| Median household income | $88,301, about 9% above the US median | Clients who can pay, and fees that support marketing |
| Population | 5.03 million | Enough demand for specialist firms, not only generalists |
What Phoenix search results look like
We ran common searches from a Phoenix location in November 2026, mostly on desktop, including “divorce lawyer phoenix”, “immigration lawyer phoenix”, “dui lawyer phoenix” and “personal injury lawyer phoenix”. Four things stood out:
The map comes first
Google showed its three-firm map on nearly every search we checked, on desktop and mobile, and on desktop it led the page for injury, divorce, DUI, immigration and estate planning searches. That makes your Google Business Profile and local SEO the first job.
AI answers lead some searches, not all
Google’s AI Overview sat at the top for “criminal defense attorney phoenix” and “workers comp lawyer phoenix”, and appeared below the map for divorce and DUI searches. The injury searches we checked had no AI Overview. We track whether your firm is named in those answers, and in ChatGPT, through our AI search work.
Directories take spots
Yelp, Justia, Avvo, Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers showed up in the results, and Reddit ranked first for “personal injury lawyer phoenix” on desktop. AI answers drew mostly on law firm websites, plus the State Bar of Arizona’s site. A complete, consistent profile on each directory helps twice.
Demand is real, but specific
Google estimates about 9,900 searches a month for “divorce lawyer phoenix”, 8,100 for “criminal defense attorney phoenix” and 1,900 for “immigration lawyer phoenix”, plus longer phrases and searches for nearby cities. That’s why we build pages for the cases you want, not one page for “lawyer Phoenix”.
Pages built for how Phoenix clients search
People here rarely search for “a lawyer”. They search for a case type, a city or a question about Arizona law. We plan your law firm SEO around those searches, one page each:
- Case type plus city: “divorce lawyer phoenix”, “dui lawyer phoenix”. Clear intent, and fewer competitors than the broad terms.
- Cities and counties: “divorce lawyer mesa”, “dui lawyer scottsdale”, “estate planning attorney chandler”. Clients often want a firm near the courthouse they’ll be in.
- Arizona law questions: “can I sue if I was partly at fault in Arizona”. Arizona uses pure comparative negligence: an injured person’s own fault doesn’t bar the claim, it reduces the damages in proportion (A.R.S. § 12-2505). Injury clients ask about it before they call.
- Spanish-language searches: “abogado de inmigracion phoenix”, about 90 searches a month. A translated page rarely ranks; a page written for the words people actually search can.
- Your attorneys: each lawyer’s name plus “lawyer”, which is what people check right before they call.

Local courts and bar groups, used properly
Phoenix-area firms work across the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County, the Pinal County Superior Court in Florence and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona at the Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. Courthouse in Phoenix. Those names belong on your practice pages where they’re relevant, because they’re what clients and AI answers connect with a local firm.
Arizona’s advertising rules, built in
Arizona has its own rules for lawyer advertising, and some of them catch firms out online:
True isn’t always enough
ER 7.1 bars any false or misleading communication about a lawyer’s services, including a statement that leaves out a fact needed to keep the whole message from misleading.
Name and contact details on everything
ER 7.1(c) says any communication about your services must include the name and contact information of at least one lawyer or law firm responsible for its content.
“Certified specialist” has a set meaning
ER 7.1(b) bars stating or implying that a lawyer is a certified specialist unless the lawyer meets the Arizona Supreme Court’s Rule 44 requirements.
No live solicitation
ER 7.3 bars soliciting someone you know needs legal help by live, person-to-person contact for profit, with narrow exceptions, and you have to stop if a person says they don’t want to be contacted.
We write your pages, ads and Google Business Profile posts within these rules and flag anything that needs your sign-off. You still have the final say on what your firm advertises, but you shouldn’t have to catch rule problems yourself.

Questions firms ask
Do you have an office in Phoenix?
No. PointClick is a California-based company and our team works remotely, so we meet Phoenix clients on Zoom or by phone. Your marketing is about your office and your market, not ours: we plan around your address, your courts and the competitors your clients actually see.
Do you work with firms in Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale and the rest of the metro?
Yes. We work with firms anywhere in the Phoenix area, including Tempe, Gilbert and Glendale in Maricopa County and Casa Grande and Maricopa in Pinal County. If you have more than one office, each one gets its own Google Business Profile and its own location page on your website.
Can you get my downtown Phoenix firm into the map results in Mesa or Scottsdale?
Sometimes, but distance matters. Google weighs how close a firm is to the person searching, so your profile is strongest near your office. Further out, reviews, a strong profile and good pages for those areas widen your reach. We don't create virtual offices to cover more towns: Google suspends profiles for that, and it puts your firm at risk.
How much does law firm marketing in Phoenix cost with PointClick?
The PointClick Client System starts at $2,500/month. Firms in competitive practice areas, like personal injury and criminal defense, often need more content and link building, so they may invest more. Paid ads are an add-on at $1,500/month plus the ad spend you pay Google and Meta directly. We quote a firm number after the free Growth Audit.
How long before SEO brings in cases?
Some fixes help within weeks, like a Google Business Profile that's finally complete or a form that actually reaches you. Rankings for competitive Phoenix searches take months. We recommend at least three months for SEO, and if you need calls sooner, Google Ads and Local Services Ads can bring them in while rankings build.
